Description
Making sure all of the content from the source is accurately represented on the screen is key to a successful show. This means it is important to ensure that the input is stable and metadata is correct in the system. This article will walk the user through how to use the tools in HELIOS to achieve this.
Output window
On the Input page, the center canvas (with the spinning earth below) is a representation of the active video of the selected input. The tiles are shown as translucent and faded to allow the user to see which part of the input is being sampled by the tiles.
Selecting an input
HELIOS has multiple input options which means that often the user will need to swap between them. This is easily done by using the dropdown selection box on the right. The colored indicator next to each input gives the user a little info on the status of the input. The below table gives a brief understanding of the different states.
Indicator Color | Description |
Black | No link - no cable connected |
Yellow | Valid link - no video signal |
Orange | Input errors |
Blue | Valid link - valid video signal |
Green | Stable signal - Input metadata overridden in UI |
Validating the Metadata
Each of the inputs has metadata tagged to it. It is important to confirm this metadata matches what the source is sending. Oftentimes, devices in line will mistakenly change or ignore metadata which means that it arrives to HELIOS incorrectly.
