Description
This guide outlines causes and prevention measures for the HELIOS alert: "Calibration data - LDM calibration data in EEPROM is not present or is invalid."
General problem
The "Calibration data" error will trigger an alert that will be flagged under the Health tab in HELIOS. This alert will appear in the following sections:
Health > Alerts
Devices > Display Devices > Alerts
Mapping > Tile Details
Background
Calibration data is captured by tile manufacturers in their factory. This data is captured by a specific type of calibration camera, and that data is recorded to the tile LDM EEPROM (memory chip). The PX1 card utilizes this data to ensure uniform and accurate color reproduction from the tiles.
Troubleshooting
A calibration data error typically indicates an issue with the actual data stored on the tile. To resolve this, consider the following steps:
Perform a Power Cycle - In some cases, a simple reboot of the system may resolve the issue and restore normal functionality.
Update HELIOS and Tile Firmware - Begin by updating all system components. Newer versions of HELIOS or tile firmware may support tile LDM configurations that are incompatible with older firmware, potentially triggering this error.
Ensure LDMs are Properly Attached - Certain situations can cause disconnected LDMs to register in HELIOS as Calibration data errors. Check all connections (including ribbon cables) to ensure a complete and proper connection.
Contact the Tile Manufacturer - If the issue persists, it may be necessary to reach out to the tile manufacturer for further assistance.
If you continue to experience issues, please reach out to support@megapixelvr.com and include your system's log files for further assistance.
