HELIOS Troubleshooting - Invalid Batch ID

Description

This guide outlines the causes of and corrective measures for the HELIOS alert: Invalid Batch ID.

Identifying Invalid Batch ID

The "Invalid Batch ID" error will trigger an alert that will be flagged under the Health tab in HELIOS. This alert will appear in the following sections:

  • Health > Alerts

  • Devices > Display Devices > Alerts

  •  Mapping > Tile Details

Background

The Batch ID is assigned to each tile during the manufacturing process. It serves to distinguish different production batches of the same tile model. Manufacturers may alter the Batch ID as needed, often in response to changes in factors such as board revisions, LED types, or other component modifications. This change typically occurs when adjustments to the tile's driver settings are required due to differences in the production run.

Troubleshooting

An Invalid Batch ID error typically indicates an issue with the production "batch ID" number stored on the tile. To resolve this, consider the following steps:

  1. Update HELIOS and Tile Firmware - Begin by updating all system components. Newer versions of HELIOS or tile firmware may support Batch IDs that are incompatible with older firmware, potentially triggering this error.

  2. Perform a Power Cycle - In some cases, a simple reboot of the system may resolve the issue and restore normal functionality.

  3. Contact the Tile Manufacturer - if the issue persists, it may be necessary to reach out to the tile manufacturer for further assistance. Sometimes, a new tile version is required.

If you continue to experience issues, reach out to [email protected] and include your system's log files for further assistance.
