Invalid Calibration or EEPROM not present

Description

This guide outlines the HELIOS Health alert "Invalid Calibration of EEPROM not present".

General problem

The "Invalid Calibration or EEPROM not present" error will trigger an alert that will be flagged under the Health tab in HELIOS. This alert will appear in the following sections:

  • Health > Alerts

  • Devices > Display Devices > Alerts

Background

Megapixel HELIOS compatible tiles contain essential calibration information, for proper uniformity and color balance from tile to tile. This calibration information is stored on EEPROM flash chips, inside each LDM module of a tile.

Troubleshooting

An Invalid Calibration of EEPROM error typically indicates an issue with the production calibration data stored on a tile, or possibly a hardware issue with the EEPROM flash storage of a tile.

  1. Update HELIOS and Tile Firmware - Begin by updating all system components. Newer versions of HELIOS or tile firmware may contain under-the-hood changes that are incompatible with older firmware, potentially triggering this error.

  2. Perform a Power Cycle -  In some cases, a simple reboot of the system may resolve the issue and restore normal functionality. This power cycle should completely de-energize the tile (unplug power or flip circuit breaker).

  3. Contact the Tile Manufacturer - if the issue persists, it may be necessary to reach out to the tile manufacturer for further assistance. Sometimes, a  new tile version is required.

If you continue to experience issues, please reach out to support@megapixelvr.com and include your system's log files for further assistance.
